| CITAZIONE Earlier this week, a journalist attending the Men Who Stare At Goats press conference in Venice shocked the crowd by dropping his drawers and proclaiming his love for the film's star, George Clooney.
A ballsy manoeuvre that fell flat and did not impress Clooney or his co-star Ewan McGregor - both jovial blokes who tend roll with the punches and enjoy a good joke.
McGregor, in town Friday to promote the movie, weighed in on the guy in his skivvies, saying "it was stupid. For George that was it, that was the press he was doing. And that was the opportunity to ask a question of him. A lot of them were suggestive, personal questions, or this idiot who took his clothes off. You think, well okay that's it. The tone's been lowered, and if someone is going to ask deeply personal questions at a press conference with international press there, do you really assume that an actor's going to answer that question truthfully? Or answer at all? And therefore why are you asking it other than to make some kind of statement. It's a waste of space. A waste of time. A waste of everyone's time. So it was a shame that, really. After everyone left, we had several serious journalists apologize to us. They were embarrassed because this now represents their international press." FONTEOra, il mio inglese ultimamente è andato a raccogliere le banane..ma mi pare si parli degli affari di clooney, no?
